South Loop

Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood is home to a variety of historical attractions. The Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Shedd Aquarium are all in this neighborhood. Locals flock to the beautiful lakefront paths extending out from Grant Park. This park hosts major city events such as Lollapalooza and Taste of Chicago. Nature lovers can find their sanctuary on Northerly Island while sports fans can enjoy Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears football team. Business professionals can be found meeting in McCormick Place, the largest convention center in the country.

Along South Michigan Avenue, you can find the Motor Row District, which belonged to Chicago’s wealthy elite at the end of the 19th century. Printer’s Row, another historic neighborhood, was once the home of the Midwest’s publishing industry and is now filled with small music venues, restaurants, theaters, and museums. Another historical site is Dearborn Station at the south end of Printer’s Row. It is the oldest train station still being used in Chicago.
